Our 3rd day in our camper van in Iceland 2021 brought us to many natural hot baths, finally finding some towels to dry off, and quaint little coastal villages. We left the town of Hofn where we camped after our South Coast day, and took a 2 hour scenic drive up the East Coast of Iceland. The drive is beautiful and reminds me a lot of PCH 1 in California. There are many pull-outs for you to take pictures and videos. After a short drive, we were ready to go in our first hot spring of the day: Djúpavogskörin. When we got there, it was busy, but by the time we were ready to swim, it was empty! We then proceeded to make our way to Seydisfjordur. This town was made famous by it’s painted rainbow road leading up to the Church in the town. Here, we grabbed some lunch and pictures before heading to the ‘capital of the East’: Egilsstaðir. Here, we were finally able to find some bath towels to properly dry off. YAY! We finished the East Coast day by visiting Vok Baths- the famous floating tubs in a glacial lake.
