Semarang City, under the leadership of Mayor Hendrar Prihadi, has made another achievement. That time, the capital city of Central Java was named the Cleanest Tourist City in Southeast Asia. This happened after the Asean Tourism (ATF) Semarang City received an award in the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Standard category.
Tugu Muda
Another icon of Semarang City which is crowded with tourists who come to this city is Tugu Muda. In fact, this monument is a ‘mandatory menu’ for tourists who are on vacation in Atlas City.
As one of the most developed cities on the island of Java, Semarang City has a population of almost 2 million people and during the day it can reach 2.5 million people.
Simpang Lima
Because it is located at the intersection of five main roads in the city of Semarang, this field is also more familiarly known as Simpang Lima.
Simpang Lima is a big square in Semarang city centre and surrounded by restaurants , shopping centre and Mall.
Simpang Lima, the downtown of Semarang area, is probably the best place to stay if you want to enjoy the hustle bustle of the town life .And one of the crowded centers of Semarang City which offers many interesting things. Starting from open green areas to shopping centre you can find at Simpang Lima.
Lawang Sewu ( Thousand Doors)
Lawang sewu has become a tourist icon in Semarang City which always attracts many visitors out of curiosity with its name Lawang Sewu, which means Thousand Doors. Is there really 1000 doors? Certainly not.
In addition to the mystery behind this old building, you can witness the splendor of the building with European style and architecture. The colonial style still persists to this day.
Taman Indonesia Kaya ( Rich Indonesian Park )
The park, which is in the heart of Semarang City, is widely used by the community as a place to just relax for a moment to relieve fatigue from the daily work routine. The use of Taman Indonesia Kaya will be the first cultural park in Central Java with the concept of an outdoor stage as a forum for the expression of artists and art workers that can be enjoyed by the people of Central Java for free and as an open space performance venue which is expected to accommodate the creations of both stage artists and stage art connoisseurs.
Soto Bangkong
Soto Bangkong is a chicken soup with a clear brownish soup with a filling consisting of shredded chicken, vermicelli, and bean sprouts. The broth and pieces of free-range chicken make this Soto taste delicious with fried garlic, which has a distinctive aroma that invites taste, is very popular in Semarang because the taste is delicious and the price is very affordable.
