Enjoy the car tour around Bucharest, Romania and discover with me Little Paris’ attractions, the most beautiful and well-known places in this amazing city.

Bucharest was “named” ‘Little Paris’ around 1900, not only for its elegant architecture, but also for the fact that locals greeted each other in French, wore the latest Paris fashions, and would frequently travel to and study in France’s capital.

Bucharest is the capital and largest city of Romania, as well as its cultural, industrial, and financial centre. It is located in the southeast of the country, on the banks of the Dâmbovița River, less than 60 km (37.3 mi) north of the Danube River and the Bulgarian border.

What you are going to see in this Bucharest tour:

The People’s Salvation Cathedral
The People’s Salvation Cathedral (National Cathedral) is an Orthodox cathedral under construction in Bucharest to serve as the patriarchal cathedral of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

The People’s Salvation Cathedral is the tallest and largest Eastern Orthodox church building by volume and area in the world.

Unirii Square
Unirii Square is one of the largest squares in central Bucharest, located in the centre of the city where Sectors 1, 2, 3, and 4 meet. It is bisected by Unirii Boulevard, originally built during the Communist era as the Boulevard of the Victory of Socialism, and renamed after the Romanian Revolution.

Palace of the Parliament
Palace of the Parliament is the world’s heaviest and its second largest administrative building, after the Pentagon.

The colossal 1,100-room edifice, today’s headquarters of the Romanian Parliament, was built by former dictator Nicolae Ceauşescu. Designed by 28-year-old architect Anca Petrescuw—who worked with a team of 700 architects and 20,000 workers who did three shifts per day—it is still unfinished.

Magheru Boulevard
Bulevardul Magheru is a major street in central Bucharest. Built in the early 20th century, it is named after General Gheorghe Magheru. Bulevardul Magheru is one of the most expensive shopping streets in Europe.

Bucharest University of Economic Studies
The Bucharest University of Economic Studies is a public university in Bucharest, Romania. Founded in 1913 as the Academy of Higher-level Commercial and Industrial Studies, it has become one of the largest economic higher education institutes in both Romania and South-Eastern Europe.

Victory Square
Victory Square is a major intersection in central Bucharest and it is known for its proximity to major office towers and government buildings. Much of the area that is not road is car-park, but green spaces to the north house three of Bucharest’s museums.

Arcul de Triumf
Nothing evokes Paris better than a replica of its famous Arc de Triomphe. Built to celebrate Romania’s victories in World War I, the Triumphal Arch is 27 meters (89 feet) tall and covered in Romanian marble and bas-reliefs by famed sculptors.

Calea Victoriei
One of the city’s main arteries, Calea Victoriei is dotted with beautifully restored buildings, museums and memorial houses that recall the avenues of Paris.
