For our annual end of the year trip, Shawn and I traveled through Japan for 23 days. We bought the JR Rail Pass, first class tickets so we could take the bullet trains all over the country in comfort. It wasn’t cheap, but it was very convenient and nice to not have to pay for each individual trip.

We landed in Haneda Airport and took the train to the Yokohama Station right near our hotel for two nights. We ate at my favorite places in Yokohama, Wako Tonkatsu and Yoshimuraya Ramen. We also went to the Cupnoodles museum which was just ok. We met up with my friend Beverly and she showed us around Chinatown and had some Chinese food for dinner.

Next we took the train to Tokyo and stayed for three nights. We went to the digital art museum, met up with my friends Suki and Hiro, also Shawn’s friend Gisele, we all went to the Asakusa Temple, Ueno, and Shinjuku. For New Years Eve Shawn and I met up with some of his friends at Shibuya Crossing to celebrate the New Year.

It was a very busy first five nights in Japan, but so much more to come.
