We flew into Nice, France to begin our 24-Day Bucket-List Road Trip. Immediately, we discovered the charming villlages of Villefranche-sur-mer and Èze along the Corniche Roads which surprised us with the ultimate coastal French Riviera beach vibe! Along the Route Napoleon, we relaxed into the countryside lifestyle at the Gorge du Verdon, Moustier St. Marie, Sisteron, and Grenoble, absolutely beautiful! We turned towards the French Alps and fell in love with the Alpine Life in Chambéry, Aix-les-Bains, Annecy (gorgeous!), and Chamonix-Mont-Blanc.
On my bucket list for this specific trip was the Matterhorn. John’s bucket list consisted of the Gorge du Verdon, Strasbourg, and La Route des vin d’Alsace. We hope to check off every spot on this trip.
We didn’t make any hotel reservations in advance which was quite the adventure, at times frustrating, but in the end, rewarding. Our bucket lists grew as found ourselves in beautiful and unexpected places.
