This is the last episode of Season #1, and it’s the sum of 3 consequent days. From Karioti, not far away from Igoumenitsa, I move south for 150km to reach my friend Mirco for a lunch and a ride on Koronisia Island, in the Gulf of Arta.
For the first 30km I ride among the mountains from which the Acheron river flows. The area is extremely beautiful, but there is also a lot of ice in the parts of the road still in the shade, so it took me much more than expected to cross it.
Eventually I reach the Gulf of Arta, which is an amazing area, full of birds and with around 10km of road running in the water.
After a late lunch on Koronisia Island me and Mirco head together towards a little village nearby, to grab a couple of beers while I’m waiting to go to the port of Igoumenitsa. The wait turns out to be much longer than expected, because I receive e message informing me about a pretty long delay in the departure (4 hours). On top of that rain has started, so I’ll reach the port cold and wet and with all my plans to be changed.
The day after I pass through Basilicata and head towards Irpinia, were I just sleep for the night, ready to reach Rome 192 days after my departure in June.
