Budapest can be found relatively east of Austria, west of Romania and south of Slovakia.
Nicknamed “the Heart of Europe” in addition to the Capital of Spas and Thermal Baths and the Pearl of Danube, it is evident that Budapest, Hungary has earned quite the name and reputation for itself. Dating all the way back to the 9th century, when the Hungarians first arrived, Budapest is full of enough culture and entertainment to share with all the world. Budapest is the capital city of Hungary measuring at 525km². It is located within the region of Central Hungary and the sub region of Budapesh. The city itself is separated into two areas: Buda (the left bank with over 20 hills) and Pest (the plain right bank). Buda is a recreational and residential zone while Pest contains housing, commercial and industrial areas.
Budapest’s Parliament building is the third largest on the continent.

The city dominates all other Hungarian cities economically and with regards to population. Currently 1,737,000 people are living in Budapest and the numbers continue to soar. Budapest is known world wide and for good reason as it is filled with an abundance of beauty, culture, business and history.
Over the years Budapest has prospered with the help of human interaction. With easily navigable man-made waterways along the Danube river in addition to railways and roads piecing together the rural and urban areas of Hungary, Budapest has accumulated a great transportation system as a result of human interaction. Budapest councils have made it their responsibility to keep the waterways of Budapest clean to preserve its natural geology. The environment has provided builders with a great deal of challenges as many bridges are needed to cross large waterways and there are many mountain ranges on the borders, increasing the rainfall and, subsequently, mudslide risk. Nevertheless, the mountains and waterways provide Budapest with an magnificent view and the outstanding architecture found there today.
