As a foreigner living in Viet Nam it’s easy to be complacent, by not paying attention to the details of local life and just live a surface level lifestyle an only see the beautiful things that country has to offer etc.
Most foreigners are guilty of just enjoying the local venues, without really establishing a connection with the local population or seeing the other side of local life aside from their smiling faces and welcoming personalities, for me living here in Da Nang Viet Nam has brought a reality and a understanding i didn’t get in America, which has made me appreciate my life and the opportunities i’ve been given, compared to the locals i’ve chosen to surround myself with, whether it be in a relationship on friendship, which has all brought me numerous experiences, allowing me to grow spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically.
