Out of the 5 countries we travelled throughout Southeast Asia Vietnam is at the top of the list.
Buying a motorcycle and riding across Vietnam was a spir of the moment decision and our best decision. This changed the whole course of our trip leading us to places where people had never seen tourists before. Getting off the tourist track allowed us to experience Vietnam on a different level and be truly submerged with a sense of independence and freedom to really travel.
Riding along the coast of Vietnam is absolutely amazing. The luscious landscape of ocean sides, rice fields, and more will leave you in awe. The cities are insanely busy but SO much fun to explore. The amazing thing about Vietnam is everything is so cheap you can fill yourself with delicious street food for around $3!
All in all we fell in love with Vietnam in so many ways and will definitely be back.
Our Route
Da Nang to Saigon: 22 hr train
Saigon to Mũi Né: 11 hr motorcycle ride
Mũi Né to Saigon: 11 hr motorcycle ride
Saigon to Rạch Giá : 6 hour motorcycle ride
Rạch Giá to Hà Tiên (border town to Cambodia): 2 hr motorcycle ride
By the end of our trip through Vietnam and then Cambodia we rode over 1800km.
