Dubrovnik Old Town is one Europe’s best preserved medieval towns. It’s easy to see why Dubrovnik is called the Pearl of the Adriatic. In this vlog, we explore the main attractions in the Old Town of Dubrovnik.
We started our walking tour of Dubrovnik’s Old Town by entering Pile Gate. It’s the main entrance to the Old Town of Dubrovnik.
Right after entering we came across Big Onofrio’s Fountain. This fountain is also known as the Jewish Fountain, and it’s right across from the entrance to the Walls of Dubrovnik.
We continued walking down the main pedestrian street, Stradun (Placa), in the Dubrovnik Old Town. Stradun is filled with cafes and shops.
For breakfast, we went to a cafe near the Jesuit Stairs to enjoy a coffee and croissant. The Jesuit Stairs is a popular Game of Thrones filming location.
After breakfast, it was time to walk the Walls of Dubrovnik. The walls are the main attraction in the Dubrovnik Old Town and the highlight of our trip.
The last stop on on the walls was at Tvrđava Minčeta. This is a fortress and the highest point.
After walking the walls of Dubrovnik, we had lunch at Republic. This restaurant serves burgers and sandwiches in the heart of Old Town.
A visit to Dubrovnik isn’t complete without getting gelato. We went to Peppinos and the rumors were true because this gelato was delicious.
After Peppinos Gelato, we went to Luža Square. It is located on the eastern end of Stradun. Here we saw Orlando’s Column, St. Blaise’s Church, the Sponza Palace, and the Dubrovnik Bell Tower.
Near Luža Square we also walked past Rector’s Palace and the Dubrovnik Cathedral.
We loved Dubrovnik and had the best time exploring its old town.
