It’s May 2022 and Thailand is gradually exiting the crazy Covid phase. When I last visited Krabi, which I think was July 2020, it was extremely quiet (almost to the point of being depressing) and – apart from a few expats – there were no farangs. We all know the story.
Anyway, entry into Thailand has eased up a little recently and the tourists have started to return. It’s always difficult for us as a family to find time for breaks, but everyone was free last week so we headed off to Krabi for a few days. It’s a five hour drive from where we live. I enjoy Krabi and I was also interested to see how busy it is at the moment. It’s not like it was pre-Covid, but things are certainly picking up.
This video will give you an idea what one of Thailand’s popular tourist resorts looks like in May 2022.
