Go big or go home right? We took our new-to-us Yakima Skyrise Tent and hit the road! Over 1200 miles in 6 days, we traveled from Northern Idaho to Southern Idaho, Utah, Nevada, then Oregon (spent about 2 hours in Washington as well).
We stuck to mostly paved roads this trip, and had to make a run for a motel once or twice due to some hellacious weather. But it was still an epic road trip for these two adventurists! Our RTT held up great after we made some modifications to make it fit our F150 (check our latest video if you want to see what we did to it).
We learned some valuable lessons on this trip that weren’t as well documented:
ALWAYS KEEP FILMING. Even when we’re both soaking wet and hangry. We can’t always document the positives only, we have to show the hard times too.
BE PREPARED. While we did bring SOME winter weather gear, we did not bring near enough as we should have and had to make a pit stop in SLC to get some more warm weather stuffs.
Bring more booze. Nuff’ said 😉
