Make it point to visit Gabala on your visit to Azerbaijan. There are day trips from Baku or alternatively you can rent a car & visit Gabala from Baku and spend at least 2 nights and 3 days, which what we did. This gave us a lot of time to relax and enjoy the sights and we took our own sweet time exploring this gorgeous town. I absolutely love the snow so we chose to specifically visit in December. However January and February are its coldest months.
