The 34 hours we spent in Donsol were among the best of the entire SE Asia tour. After our flight from Manila to Legazpi was delayed, we arrived in Donsol around noon, giving us just enough time to try and find a whaleshark (Butanding) on the first day…
Having gone before peak season, the town and ocean seemed quiet. This was great as there were only 4 boats at most looking for the whale sharks which made the trip very pleasant. The locals were also incredibly friendly, and helped to make our stay even more memorable.
