We finally made it to our hotel in Chiang Mai just before midnight, slept well and headed out for our first of many coffee shops. Luckily at the coffee shop we met an American couple living in Chiang Mai who recommended Khao Soi Lam Duan, so we headed there for our first meal in Chiang Mai.

That was the best meal we had in Thailand, the flavors were just amazing and it was so cheap, around $7.00 for a few dishes, appetizers and drinks for three of us. We spent the rest of our time in Chiang Mai trying to find better food, but I don’t think we did. We did have some great meals, I think some of our best meals of the entire trip. We also went to many coffee shops for Thai Iced Coffee, tea, and smoothies.

We tried some street food as well as night markets, some good, some ok, but all very cheap. It was so amazing how inexpensive everything is there, with the exception of Haagen Dazs and the last cafe by our hotel, and the Bangkok airport. Those were all more expensive, but still cheaper than US prices.

Overall we had an amazing time in Chiang Mai, I would go back for sure, hopefully this Fall.
