The annual summer flood season in Southeast Asia is in full swing. Due to heavy incessant rains, vast areas were under water in Bangladesh. Authorities report severe flooding in Sylhet and Sunamganj. Bangladesh Disaster Management Minister Enamur Rahman said the flooding could be the worst in 100 years. Local residents are being helped to evacuate from the disaster zone. Shelters are provided by public and private organizations. About 90.000 residents are currently staying in temporaly accommodation centers.
