Hello and welcome to one of the most impressive historical destinations in Limburg, Flanders or even Belgium! We’re visiting Alden Biesen which used to be a land commandery, or headquarters if you will, of the Teutonic Order. The Teutonic Order, much like the Knights Templar, was a military order Founded during the crusades in the High Middle Ages. Its remodelling through the ages has given us a huge complex of beautiful castle buildings and chapels. After destruction by a fire the whole site has been restored to perfection. Join us on our trip as we walk around and explore this amazing historical site and its history. Thanks for watching!
