Tour Description:
Our tour starts with the mysterious Crystal Skull, famous for being… a fake? Then, we’ll head to the Enlightenment Gallery to visit the Feejee Mermaid, a circus sideshow gaff made from a mummified fish, and talk about Dr John Dee’s Enochian Magick objects.

Heading upstairs, we visit the Gallery where iconic street artist Banksy performed a reverse museum heist by sneaking something into the British Museum!

We’ll check out a bit of ancient propaganda against Cleopatra before spending some time with the cat mummies – did you know they were used for fertiliser for British farming?

Finally, we research a bit of ancient true crime with the Gebelein man and finish back in the Enlightenment Gallery to talk about a grim topic – corpse medicine and Victorian cannibalism! Yes – we ate mummies!
