through GuruWalk site or many from the hostels or local affiliates.
Shorts – Intro Graffiti Street Arts Tour with Boryana – Sofya, Bulgaria
Regardless, this short is from the outstanding Graffiti Street Arts Tour here in Sofya, Bulgaria!!!
Boryana explained how two brothers started these tours as part of a gentrification of the formerly derelict Sofia?
This particular one, from the late 1980s was designed by my all-time favorite Artist, Salvador Dalí. Meant as a commercial, these letters take on the qualities of the original Street Graffiti Arts borne in NYC!
We also did the Balkan Bites and the MEH $16 BarHopping Tours where we’d already found three of the five places we visited and the shit shots these walking Pub Drunken Meet-n-Greets present seems worthy, but only if they end with a massive party at the end.
We seemed to keep this DEAD club open for the night. Approximately 7 other people showed up after we had, and another 15 smoking out front, but the club was an empty parking lot IN SIDE!!???
Most famous Bulgarian Street Graffiti artist
The work is entitled “Zhar” (Embers) and is the work of world-famous Bulgarian graffiti artist – Stanislav Trifonov (Nasimo). One of the first street artists in Bulgaria, he started painting in public places in the mid-90s of the twentieth century when graffiti culture emerged in this country.
Bozko
Bozko is really good at choosing the right spot for his art. You cannot unsee his choice of colors – especially the bright yellow – between gray walls. His characters are complex, you can read their feelings from their facial expressions and body position. If you look at them longer, you’ll find interesting details which are referring to historical or cultural events, and also the current problems of society.

Arsek & Erase
Arsek & Erase are the masters of illustration and surrealism. They paint creatures with googly eyes in extremely bright colors, and suddenly you find yourself in a crazy fairy tale.

My absolute favorite along the tour: “The Sofia Dream Tree” is the sixth installation of “Project: 100 Dream Trees”, and located in Sofia, Bulgaria.
This mural was created during my participation at World of Co Artist Residency over the month of July 2019.
