Checking into Costa Rica on a good day is a challenge..known for its arduous, bureaucratic check in process and an in person boat inspection for pork of all things, not to mention pricey with fees totaling over $500. However for us the bureaucracy was the least of our concern when experienced an engine issue just as we were trying to clear in. The authorities were telling us we had to move but we couldn’t resulting in a mad scramble to try and get the engine repaired in time to clear in before a long holiday!
After getting our engine issues sorted it was time to explore this beautiful country. A visit to Costa Rica was well worth the hassle! We were amazed by the diversity of plants and animals just steps off our boat!
