Today we’re doing some different…and very awesome! We are visiting Chenrezig – a Buddhist study, retreat and meditation centre situated on 160 acres on the edge of the Blackall Range in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The centre is tucked away in a rainforest setting and home to a Tibetan teacher, resident nuns and monks, and a community of lay students, volunteers, and guests. Our visit gives us a fascinating insight into Tibetan Buddhism. We have a wonderful morning which includes a walk around the beautiful gardens and finish with a delicious chai and cake…..
Chenrezig Institute offers introductory classes in meditation, a vegetarian cafe, an extensive library, an art studio, yoga, the Garden of Enlightenment memorial gardens, and extensive rainforest grounds, all of which are open to the general public. A range of simple accommodation is available for those wishing to stay.

Hi, we’re Beth & Paul from Brisbane, Australia and we love to travel!
Paul retired on 28th February 2020 and on the 1st March 2020, we set out on a 6-month adventure around South East Asia. This was a well-planned once-in-a-lifetime travel experience! It was our intention to show you how you can have a great time travelling without spending a fortune.
Our timing wasn’t great – with the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus and subsequent global turmoil less than a month into our trip.
Until it is safe to travel internationally again, we turn our focus on travelling around Queensland and sharing everything our beautiful State has to offer!
