A scenic hiking & wild camping montage of a multi day solo trek I did through the Prenj Mountain Range in Bosnia & Herzegovina, on the fourth day summiting the highest peak called Zelena Glava at 2155m.
This hike forms part of the Via Dinarica White Trail, which follows the highest peaks of the Dinaric Alps in The Balkans of Eastern Europe. The section I did was from Jablanica Lake in the West, to Boracko Lake in the East.
In this video you’ll see some beautiful mountain scenery and get a taste of what it’s like to be completely alone, hiking and camping in the bosnian wilderness for a good couple of days.
This video is part 3 of 3, starting in our rustic hiker’s shelter at Vrutak on the fourth morning, climbing to the top of Zelena Glava to enjoy some fantastic views, spending our 4th night in the wilderness in a quaint shelter at Bijele Vode and then covering the last strech to Ruijiste and Boracko Lake.
This was one of my absolute favourite experiences from the 20 months I spent solo travelling and backpacking abroad, but it was also one of the most challenging as I had to face many trials such as getting lost, struggling to find water, having to navigate areas with landmines, taking shelter from hailstorms and racing the darkness to find mountain hunts to sleep in.
