After graduating from high school last year, three of my friends and I went on a 25-day trip to Japan. We started our trip in Tokyo where we stayed for 13 days. After Tokyo, we headed to Nagano for some snow and onsen. Then we went to Osaka, Hiroshima, and Kyoto.
What made our trip successful and fulfilling was not only the amazing places we’ve visited but the people who we met and interacted with. We endeavoured to meet up with as many exchange students that had come to our school before and had become our friends. Almost every other day, we would meet up with these students and hang out, get toured around the local sights, go to karaoke, and we had a really good time with them. As being Japanese myself, I feel local enough to travel around Japan but by delving into the lives of our Japanese friends, I gained a deeper insight and appreciation for my own culture. This also applies to my three friends as it gave them the opportunity to truly feel like locals and to understand the culture deeper.
Similarly though, as I was talking with these students what really struck me was how much of an amazing experience meeting with us in Japan had also been to them. I think the take-home message from this experience is that just by interacting with people of different backgrounds, we can benefit from each other. So keep talking to people!
Our trip to Japan was definitely well worth it and our experience with people made it unforgettable!

去年、オーストラリアで六年間の高校生活を終えた僕は、高校の友達３人と日本に卒業旅行に行きました。今回はそちらの動画です。
東京、長野、大阪、広島、京都の順で計２５日間の長期旅行でした。長そうであっという間に終わってしまった旅。とても楽しかったです。
日本を旅行先に選んだ理由は、僕の仲の良い友達３人が元々日本の文化に興味を持っていて、僕と日本に行きたいと言っていたのと、オーストラリアで出会った日本の友達に会う為でした。
僕が通っていたケアンズの高校は、日本の高校と交流がある学校で、毎月３校、多い時には５校ぐらいが日本から来ていました。バディー制度というものがあって、訪問校の生徒達は、僕の高校の生徒達とバディーを組んで行動していました。今回卒業旅行に一緒行った友達と僕は、毎回快くバディーを受け入れていました。その結果、僕達はケアンズの高校を卒業するまでに日本の各地にたくさんの友達ができました。
日本の各地で、オーストラリアで知り合った友達が街や観光先を案内してくれました。そのお陰でローカルの人しか知らないようなところに連れて行ってもらえて倍楽しむことができました。この動画の最後には、日本でお世話になった皆様を入れたクレジットを作りました。一生忘れられない思い出ができ、この恩は一生忘れません。また会いましょう！オーストラリアにいつでも遊びに来てください。
