Amsterdam has been ranked as one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, both in terms of visitor numbers and income generated by tourism.
The city was founded at the end of the 12th century, making it one of Europe’s oldest cities. The city’s population is now over 800,000 people, making it one of the largest cities in population within Western Europe. Incredibly enough, Amsterdam also has more bikes than people living there!
