I interview Joe Cummings, an American who first came to Thailand in 1977. Joe is known as the travel guru of Thailand and South East Asia after writing Thailand’s first Lonely Planet guidebook as well as many other books on SE Asia. In this interview Joe is going to tell us about a near death experience he had in a fisherman’s boat off the coast of Java, his relationship with Mick Jagger from The Rolling Stones, how Joe wrote Thailand’s first Lonely Planet guidebook as well as how the CIA tried to recruit him when he was studying Thai in America.
