Between August and September the heather fields in the Netherlands bloom into a beautiful shade of purple that is comparable to the lavender fields in the south of France.
Here we takes a short trip through the dunes of the Gooise Nature Reserve (Goois Natuurreservaat), about 15km north of Utrecht, next to the town of Hilversum.
