The Shangri La The Shard Hotel in London is fast becoming a global and architectural icon, being Western Europe’s highest building at 72 stories, offering views that stretch to the horizon in each direction. The Shangri La hotel starts on level 34 and occupies 18 floors of The Shard, making it one of the must stay hotels in Europe. Designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano, The Shard is part of the massive Shard Quarter Development, combining retail, residential, hotel and office spaces.

The guest rooms and suites at The Shard are innovative and stylish. Each guest room offers floor to ceiling windows to maximus the amazing views of London, had remote control blinds, sophisticated décor, luxury linens and marble clad bathrooms featuring mirror-embedded televisions and heated flooring.

A swimming pool in a London hotel is rare, even rarer is a pool with a view in London. At the Shangri La Shard, they offer the highest pool in Western Europe, located on the 52nd floor, you can swim in the clouds and enjoy the incredible views from the city way below. On the same floor is a well-equipped gym and sauna, so you can work out while looking at the panoramic views.

The Shard Shangri La’s main dining venue offers the best views in London, (located on the 35th floor) as well as mouth-watering delights. The breakfast buffet we enjoyed was extremely comprehensive, offering both western and Asian sections. One of the best locations in London to enjoy afternoon tea is also at the Shangri La, with delicious English scones and that view… wow, wow, wow.
