In this video I discuss my experience and thoughts on the use of the term ‘Emmet’. This term is used by many Cornish locals to refer to others from outside the county, either visiting as tourists or relocating more permanently. There is much debate as to whether ‘Emmet’ is a pejorative term. I discuss the debate in this video, where I take note that it is important to understand the cultural and historical context that fosters the sense of Cornish nationalism.
