(Lig)fietstocht door Frankrijk, augustus/september 2022. Van Tour d’Auvergne fietsen we naar het zuiden en kamperen in Murat. Vervolgens van Murat naar Saint-Flour, waar we Peter ontmoeten, die ons voor het laatste stuk zal vergezellen naar zijn huis in Pouzols, vlakbij het indrukwekkende Viaduc de Garabit, ontworpen door Gustave Eiffel. Overdag en ‘s avonds vallen er veel buien, gelukkig verblijven we in de comfortabele gîte. De volgende dag is een rustdag: wandelen naar Faverolles, de fietsen repareren en schoonmaken en ‘s avonds Saint Flour bezoeken. De volgende dag is het tijd om te vertrekken en aan de terugreis te beginnen. Peter zal ons vergezellen tot de eerste beklimming, Portus d’Auzenc.
From Tour d’Auvergne we cycle to the south and camp in Murat. Then from Murat to Saint-Flour, where we meet Peter, who joins us for the last part to his home in Pouzols near the impressive Viaduc de Garabit, designed by Gustave Eiffel. During the day and in the evening there were a lot of showers, luckily we’re staying in the comfortable gîte.
The next day is a rest day: walking to Faverolles, fixing and cleaning the bikes and visiting Saint Flour in the evening. The following day it is time to leave and start the return trip back home. Peter will join us until the first climb, Portus d’Auzenc.
