La Turbie is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in southeastern France. La Turbie has been called the “Switzerland of Provence” and “the pearl of the French Riviera”.

The town was founded in 1271 by Charles I, Count of Provence. Its name originates from the Occitan word ‘turbera’ meaning ‘tower’.
