Koblenz, Germany was an adorable town with the Moselle River on one side and the Rhine river on the other side. Although it cobblestone streets and fountains and gorgeous buildings with lots of history, there were tons of great shops and restaurants and it just had a really good feel to it.

The German quarter was nearby and it was very convenient to take a cable car up to Ehrenbreitstein fortress or castle. This castle which is the second largest castle in Germany and closer to the border of France! It’s the second largest and the first largest is the one that Disney castle is modeled after on the south eastern side of Germany.

We went to many places other in Germany including Berg Eltz – a picturesque privately owned castle in the middle of the forest.

We also went to Trier, which has the Porta Negra and Roman history. Karl Marx was also born in Trier, which is near the border of Luxembourg and Germany.
