On October 9th Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady set sail on a 7 night French Daze & Ibiza Nights Voyage from Barcelona Spain. Sailing round trip from Barcelona she will make stops in France, Italy, and Ibiza before returning home. On October 16th she returned to Barcelona for the last time of the season as her next destination is now Miami as she heads to the US for the first time.
With a turn around day scheduled for October 16th Valiant Lady made an extra early arrival with the lights of Barcelona already on the horizon before 4:00 AM as the Wonder of the Seas sailed in ahead of her. As she made her way into the port at 5:30 she sailed past the Wonder before turning around in the harbor to take her spot at the World Trade Center Terminal South.
In addition to Valiant Lady and Wonder of the Seas, the Seabourn Sojourn, MSC Poesia, and Costa Pacifica each visited the port for a mix of turn around and port of call visits.
From my hotel near La Sagrada Familia I could see the ships in the harbor over the tops of the buildings in Barcelona. Valiant Lady was late departing, likely due to the extra supplies needed for her long transatlantic, so she didn’t depart the port until after 7 PM. She then lit her balconies with an odd “HOLA” message for her final departure from Barcelona for the year. After her the MSC Poesia also departed.
This video was filmed on 10/09/2022 while visiting the Port of Barcelona Spain for a turn around day at the Terminal Sud (South) of the World Trade Center for the last time of the 2022 Mediterranean season.
