ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
Day 9 of 12 – We started the 9th day of our epic 12-day road trip in the city of Kagoshima. After exploring the Terukuni shrine, we travelled to the mountains north of Kirishima. The scenery is beautiful here, with forests packed with tall trees and great views over the valleys.
We visited Kirishima-Jingū, a shrine deep in the woods that is dedicated to a god who is said to have established the line of Japanese Emperors. In fact, you can see the Imperial Family crest at the top of the shrine.
After a very tasty lunch, we visited a nearby roadside service area. This was very different to normal service areas; this one had a chair-lift, sledding and even a train to ride on. I had a lot of fun!
Join me as I explore the sights of Kirishima and head downhill at speed!
