48 hours in Bratislava Slovakia 🇸🇰

48 hour city break to bratislava, Slovakia in November 22.

See our budget friendly trip with Christmas markets, 2 countries and lots of tasty food.

We booked our flights with Ryanair and accommodation on booking.com, flying from London Stansted a 2 hour flight and arriving at our hotel Dolce vita.

After a minor mix up with rooms we were very impressed with our spacious top floor room with en-suite, fridge/freezer, TV and sink area. A very comfortable double bed and a large sofa that could also be used as a double pull out bed.

After checking in we headed to the only #icebar in Slovakia, cost was €10pp and you get a shot included, played some games for more free shots, sat in the ice throne. It is quite small in there but still a good time.

Then we went to find the main square where the #christmasmarket was and it was stunning! Rows of #streetfood and drink stalls, so many people all looking super cozy and wrapped up warm.

We had THE best sausage to date and prices were very reasonable. Shortly after we headed back to our lovely room in #hoteldolcevita to cosy up and chill out ready for day 2.

Day to was a semi early start and we walked 15 minutes to the train station to get the train to Vienna for the day. Return ticket cost €14pp and is only an hour and 20 minutes away.

Once in Vienna we then purchased another train ticket €2.40pp return to the main area where they have the Christmas market.

#vienna Christmas market was alot bigger and had more gift stalls whereas #bratislava has more food stalls. They also have and ice rink too.

While here we obviously sampled some more yummy food, and the folded langos was my absolute fave! After having a great day in Vienna we got the train back to Bratislava and headed back to the Christmas market for more food and drink.

Final day we checked out at 10am and took a 20 minute walk to Bratislava Castle for some amazing views before heading to the train station to catch the bus to the airport.

It cost 90 cent each for the 30 minute bus journey and once in the airport terminal we were the only ones there apart from some same putting up the #christmastree we then had lunch of a very tasty pizza and chips before going through security as there isn’t really anywhere to eat once you go through.

We thoroughly enjoyed our very brief visit and will return for longer.

Thanks for watching and reading.
