Traditional Ueno is known for ornate Shinto and Zen landmarks, including 17th-century Benzaiten temple. Ueno is also considered the shitamachi, or traditional downtown of Tokyo, since the Edo era. You may find museum around too. Expansive Ueno Park next to the station houses there are many museums, a large boating pond, a shrine with a pagoda and a large zoo. Do enjoy the walkthrough!!
