One of the most beautiful cities in the south-east of France – Aix-en-Provence, is located in the province of Provence among the mountain ranges. Old streets paved with stone, palaces of the Provencal nobility of the 17th-18th centuries in the Italian Baroque style, elegant facades of old mansions with openwork wrought iron balconies, the city hall with a Gothic clock, many fountains that once saved the city from the plague, as well as numerous markets. Various festivals are organized in the city. One of the most famous is Le Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, an international music festival where you can listen to opera and other classical music. Aix-en-Provence is the cultural gem of France and also the city of the arts. Post-impressionist painter Paul Cezanne was born and worked here, and many painters came here for inspiration.
