After two weeks skiing in the Alps, we are safely home and reflect on how we managed to have such an amazing ski adventure whilst at the same time living in our campervan and keeping to a tight budget.
There is no doubt that skiing can be very expensive, but with careful budgeting we think that we can get the costs down to £1500 for a week of comfortable skiing for 2 people including travel, accommodation, lift passes and ski hire. We know we could go cheaper, but we are not yet ready to wild camp in the Alps in winter!
In our early retirement, budget is everything and we now realise we can ski for even longer each year using our VW campervan Nelson. The longer we choose to stay, the more economical it becomes. Are we ready to take the next early retirement step and live a ski season in the Alps in a VW campervan?
We are Richard and Jackie and we live in the UK. We have chosen to early retire from teaching during the summer of 2022 at the age of 51. Our plans for early requirement include relocating to the Yorkshire Dales, renovating our forever home and travel the UK, Europe and eventually the world in our VW campervan Nelson.
You will soon realise that we are complete YouTube beginners with all the challenges of creating and publishing videos ahead of us, not to mention uploading when on the road.
