Located on the banks of the Mekong, the capital of Laos Vientiane is the center of all excursions in the country, whether for a departure by road or boat. 10% of the total population of Laos live in Vientiane, i.e. nearly 716,000 inhabitants. Vientiane is a surprising city. Rice fields and vegetable fields hide behind its tree-lined avenues. French colonial architecture blends with golden-roofed temples. Do not miss the visit of the Stupa That Luang as well as that of the Wat Sisaket and Wat Phrakeo temples, the markets of Vientiane and why not the astonishing “Buddha Park” outside of Vientiane.
