In the Square Jehan Rictus garden of Montmartre, Paris, stands this 40 square metre wall. Designed by mural artist Fédéric Baron and calligrapher Claire Kito. 612 Dark blue enamelled lava tiles are adorned with “I Love You” 311 times in 250 languages from around the world including most major languages, rare languages, dialects and a number of Indian languages as well, including Hindi and Bhojpuri. Built in 2000, the vision behind this piece of art is that although a wall stands to divide and separate, the Wall Of Love in fact stands for bringing people closer in love, a Place of Reconciliation.. There are a number of red splashes all over the fresco, which if pieced together form a whole heart.

Over the past two decades this has become a prominent tourist spot especially for lovers some of whom actually plan in advance and propose to their beloved against the backdrop of this wall.
