Salaam everyone! We hope you enjoy our travel vlog about our last day in Tokyo Japan where we experience and try amazing japanese street food and visit Shinjuku and Harajuku. Harajuku is known for the Harajuku girls and fashion and lots of great shopping.

We took a flight back from Naha airport in Okinawa back to Tokyo Narita Airport where we wanted to spend our last day in Japan exploring Tokyo! We decided to catch the last few days of the sakura cherry blossom season and went straight to Shinjuku to visit the Gyoen gardens.

Our hotel was located next to the Yamanote green line that is run by JR trains, which allow you to use the subway in Tokyo to get to all the main areas like Asakusa, Shibuyya, Shinjuku, Shimbashi etc.

Shinjuku Gyoen (新宿御苑) is one of Tokyo’s largest and most popular parks. It is loctated on the yamanote green line just a short walk from Shinjuku Station. You have to pay to enter the park and it is a massive park!

The park had different types of gardens from all over the world but we wanted to visit the Japanese garden where we got to see some amazing cherry blossoms that were still in bloom. The sakura is a beautiful event that we highly recommend for everyone to visit at least once. People love to go have hanami parties under the sakura cherry blossom tree where they bring their japanese food and picnic together.

On our way back we walked around Shinjuku (新宿) which is known for the red light district as well Omoide Yokocho which is the famous piss alley. This Omoide Yokocho is probably the best place to try Yakitori, there are a lot of small restaurants in the alley where you can get lots of unique japanese food and street food.

One of the Street foods we tried was the famous japanese crepes that are handmade. They are really delicious and usually have a lot of highschool kids lined up!

After exploring Shinjuku we decided to go towards Harajuku, which is just north of Shibuya crossing. Harajuku (原宿) is the famous colorful shopping area where a lot of young fashion and crazy styles can be found. This is where all the teenagers and young kids in Japan get their cool styles. The main street is called Takeshita Dori (Takeshita Street) where you will find lots of boutque shopping stores and great food as well.

We found a small burger place that makes japanese shrimp burgers and home made fries and ginger ale drinks. This was a great experience to see how they take japanese flavors and mix it with a north american classic, the burger!

After we ate, we shopped and found a lot of unique clothes at Harajuku in Takeshita Dori (Takeshita Street). We even found a really cool cotton candy store that made huge cotton candy that Sarah loved.

It is sad that we are now leaving Japan, it went by too fast. We had a lot of great food, and a lot of great experiences and the japanese people are incredible.

Now it is time to go visit Seoul in South Korea and try the amazing Korean food !

Y&S rating is Yusuf and Sarah rating that we came up with to review food based on taste, creativity, skill, service, and execution. The rating is out of 5 and it is really tough to get a 5 rating.
