    Osaka Station has installed the Japan’s first facial-recognition ticket gate(Hands-free ticket gate) in their new entrance!! Me, travelgeek visited the place for a short video.

      Face scanning is interesting but is also dangerous if used for social control, in mainland China is reality.

      I wouldn't travel to Japan now if the trip was for free. They are still wearing those useless masks indoors and out. The whole endeavor is very dehumanizing.

      The number of travelers provided – 850k – is just for the JR lines and does not include the connected Umeda train station, such as Hankyu, nor the subway lines that run through the station. All included the daily number is above 2m travelers per day.

      Face scanning on metro station for ticket already implemented in China about 5 years ago …. also Face recognition for payment at supermarket already implemented in China about 3 years ago. So this nothing new to me ….
