Ever since my previous trip to the Caucasus region, I have wanted to come back. The beautiful mountainous nature combined with interesting orthodox christian architecture has a feel like nowhere else.
And this time I chose Armenia.
We will explore some of the most remote spots on the map in the later videos, but today let me just share with you some of my first impressions of this city.
What is the general feel? What is the city like? What did I like? What did I dislike?
Let’s dive in

  1. wll, i hav just recently seen your video from Tbilisi and there is such a difference… loved Georgia a lot more, tbh
but i can't wait for the next entries 🙂

  2. This is probably the most depressing capital I have ever visited, and that includes Nairobi, well, maybe those two have a draw. The stairs and catedhral were nise though. And our hotel was great as well. And restaurants we have visited too.

  3. This seems kind of misleading…You are filming the city and the first landmark you show is the Blue Mosque. It is like going to London and starting the tour with Whitechapel…the gloomy weather adds up to it with the overall depressing mood enhanced by the sad church music playing in the background 😄

  4. Omg, the difference between Tbilisi and Yerevan is utterly huge. Like 2 different, parallel worlds. Yerevan seemed to have witnessed a much stronger, Soviet influence. Was expecting to see some nice Orthodox churches. The Armenian Churches in Plovdiv and Varna are quite nice. Will wait for the future videos, though.
P.S. When you mentioned Varna, I think Burgas now is much prettier yet smaller but Plovdiv is the best xD

  6. Dude, I'm from Yerevan and I totally agree with you. Yerevan needs to be totally refurbished: the facades of the buildings, the roofs, the top of Cascade. Enjoy your trip and welcome to Armenia.

  8. A very unfair depiction of Yerevan.
Had you visited a couple of weeks earlier the city would have been covered with snow and you could say it was one of the most beautiful capitals you ever saw 😂😂
The airport in Yerevan has a stunning design but you only filmed the Soviet era airport terminal which is not in use since decades.. Why?!
As for the Blue Mosque it is one of the only remaining truly old buildings in Yerevan and the garden is much nicer in summer with flowers and green grass but it is not representative of modern or Soviet Yerevan in any way.
There is stunning architecture and parks that you (intentionally?) missed…
