✨ About Always Away:
We are Dominic and Emma. Travelling together as a couple for the last 10 years, we started off backpacking through South East Asia and in 2016 began vanlife as a means to travel with our pug, Percy. Since then, we have slowly been upgrading; from our first self-build micro-camper Renault Kangoo to our Mercedes Sprinter LWB, and now our Fiat Ducato Hymer Swing Motorhome. Vanlife allows us to not only travel with our dog, but experience travelling through places and enjoying the journey, not just the destination. We are advocates for not allowing financial circumstance to be a barrier to travel. Instead we know there is Always Away!

This really makes me want to go to Shikoku again and go rural, I've only experienced Takamatsu, Tokushima and Naruto!
YES YES YES!!! I love stories off the beaten path like this so much. Well done!
I'm really enjoying your explorations of countryside Japan.
Your family has a knack of finding eccentric people lol.
Good to see Missy Sippy still doing well after all these years
I don't know how you guys do it, but you really make me feel like I am there with you. Not many YouTubers manage that. So sad to see the abandoned houses and villages. But that was the first time anyone has made "The Scarecrow Village" seem alive. I really enjoyed Fuji San's studio it was totally fascinating. I should be an installation in an Art Gallery. Enjoy your adventures, cheers, Muffy from Oz (Australia)
Watching this felt like I was going on an adventure with a couple of good mates!
I was so confused for a minute. You're Chris's sister, yeah? I totally thought you were Sharla for a hot second from the thumbnails! Glad to see you and hubby are enjoying Japan to its fullest! Cheers!
That’s quite the adventure! I thought the vine bridge was pretty freaky, but I’d have to say getting lost was more so. So glad you were able to find that sushi place.
Very nice video, keep it up. Also, one of my favorite cars at 25:12 !!
it's a freakin' s15 Silvia ! 😱
This is a fascinating video! Really interesting moments and thought provoking. Maybe could’ve been 2 videos to have time to digest all the vibes? Though I love an occasional long video too ☺️ What amazing memories you’re making! ✨
Love the off the path places. Absolutely amazing. Why does the scarecrow village feel like a setting for a horror movie??? I just imagine someone getting lost and others end up searching for them later to only find a scarecrow that looks like them from a distance. When they get closer they realized it's their friend whose mouth has been sewn shut and buttons sewn onto their eyelids with the face painted with a creepy smile.
I have enjoyed this video a lot, what a lucky find – the whole family seemed so welcoming and wonderful. There was so much to look at, seemed like seeing his whole life later out around you.
The scarecrow village is always a favourite to watch too! The vine bridges although cool, seem a bit terrifying ha!
I’m a bit intrigued about that ramen vending machine Don read the review for 😂
Hi there! To clarify: the 'raccoon dog' of 20:46 is NOT a tanuki, but is actually a Japanese badger! ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_badger ) 😁
11:17 Lovely video, but please don't record when you're on the loo.
You guys are so brave to walk on the vine Bridge! I can barely walk on a pier haha 😂 My favourite part of Japan are the random encounters with lovely people you meet who are so accomodating and friendly!
You couldn’t pay me enough to walk across those bridges 😂
lovely video, truly enjoyed following you on your adventure! Such an interesting area!
Oh wow you saw a tanuki!! 🥰 rual Japan is so beautiful.
Loved the video! Can tell the amount of work going into editing! Keep it up guys 🎉xx
Man, those vine bridges looked scary!
It was nice to see scarecrow village framed as it was intended. You made it seem very whimsical, while I've seen many others frame it as scary. Which is also undoubtedly true, but leaves out a big part of the story. So thank you!
1). What a fascinating man, I bet he has some interesting tour stories. 2). No thank you for both “bridges”!
Awesome video. We're in Pgh, Pa USA. I've gotten lost many times. Very scary. But you always seem to find your way. Thank goodness. The art is amazing. My daughters and I went to the Andy Warhol museum and art festivals. It's neat to see how people interpret their Art 🎨🖌️🖼️ very creative. that hike would have killed me. Lol. I'll take the elevator lol thanks so much for sharing. I really enjoy watching your videos. Sweet couple. 💙❤️🫶🫶🌸🌸🌷🌷
