Olivia and Nathan here! Is Cape Town safe for tourists? The number one question and concern for people looking to visit Cape Town in 2023 is how safe is it really? Is Cape Town still as dangerous as they say it is, especially after being named one of the most dangerous cities in the world? 1. Thank you so much for letting the world know that my city Cape Town is not so bad after all. We South Africans are a resilient nation and we know how to unite when need to. I know apartheid as I was a high school kid who in 1976 protested for our freedom as non white South Africans. We still have a long way to go and I believe we will overcome our past. Once again thank you for your honest view of our city we Capetonians our very proud of our city

  2. Very well down you two are a class act. To bad some people in the US didn’t feel like your guide that we are all the same.

  3. The media always focuses on the negative. Doesn't matter what nation is reporting it. Thanks for sharing your experience and showing the positive.

  4. How many kidnappings are there in Cape Town?
In the first six months of 2022 an average of 1,143 kidnappings a month were reported to the police, double the monthly average in 2021 (700)

  5. Thanks to the cANCer who shipped hundreds of thousands of their voters into the city for the vote on the province. One they bussed them there and the vote done (obviously lost) they just left them there. 30 plus years later we have sprawling shanty townships everywhere and obviously an influx of criminal activity. The cANCer also opened the borders of SA 30 years ago and an influx of people from all over Africa came to SA! The rest is obvious!!!!

  6. This is going to be my go-to vid to share when I'm asked about Cape Town safety for tourists! Thank you for making this well thought out, nuanced, amazing vid 🙂

  7. Great video. Thanks for sharing the positive side of our City, but most importantly being very specific. Love it!! I'm a content creator in CPT that represents Cape Town and the beauty it holds, and seeing this is good ❤

  8. I’m seeing some crazy protests in Paris right now, most of Israel as well, but I have enough common sense to know that’s not what Paris or Israel is all about, also I don’t think New York, Milan, Miami… are 100% safe everywhere you go, we where is Paris two years ago and there are areas your shouldn’t go to, it’s common sense, I don’t think Skid Row is the total sum of what Los Angeles is, I think crime in South Africa is click bait and I’m disappointed that you guys felt the need to do this video, I couldn’t finish it by the way, I enjoy most of your content by the way.

  9. Nah you guys can have the land!!!👏👏👏 Thank you for this beautiful representation of our city. So honest, so genuine and the same view a lot of us have who were born and bred here and love our home. Glad you guys came and experienced the love of the Mother City 🤎

  10. Just came back also stayed in De Waterkant we also felt safe and had no issues. Can you please share the Air B & B info for the next time we go? TIA

  11. You mentioned government corruption. Well, the news and government are all connected. 6 families own ALL media outlets, and it's literally everything you watch. It's called "Tel-a-vision PROGRAMING" for a reason. Now read between the lines. The news is nothing but staged propaganda, literally all lies and fear based content to keep you on a low vibration. Ask yourself how much of the news you watch daily has positive news? Right….. it's by design. Whatever you see on the news, it's usually the opposite. The news told you to put your money in Silicon Bank a week later, the bank went under. Everywhere you go you should always be aware of your surroundings, but that should never cripple you live every day like it's your last. This comes from a 44 year old who was born and raised in Chicago. We are immortals with amnesia it's time we wake up and take our rightful place as Kings and Queens. God bless 🙏🏽

  12. Ubuntu is one of South Africa's greatest exports. It has several meanings, but generally something like this: "I am because we are" or "it takes a village to raise a child". It's basically about individual effort and collective responsibility. As South Africans watching this video, we would do well to remember Ubuntu and put it into action every day. I loved what the guide said about us not being defined by past events. He was very gracious and that's a lesson for us all.

  13. (not CT but still SA)
i was in JHB visiting family and friends for 4 days, staying at an airbnb in northriding, on the 4th day at 02:30am they tried cutting through the burglar bars to get into our accommodation. If I hadn't been awoken by the noise of the bars being cut, my wife and i would have been faced with "intruders" in our airbnb and a VERY high chance of being killed….. on my previous trip to JHB, staying near northgate, they stole 30 meters of electrical cable out of the ground outside the property where the airbnb was….
it's funny how, after 30 years of ANC in power, people still whine about 'apartheid', yet NEVER mention the 3 trillion rand stolen by the ANC and the huge unemployment rate that went from 15% in 1994 to over 55% now….. at what point do black people ACTUALLY start taking responsibility..??????

  14. Thank you for a very balanced assessment of the situation. As South Africa we have many problems and tourists do need to be sensible when they visit, but I can promise everyone it will be worth your while if you make the trip

  15. I have such respect for you two! What a candid, insightful, and truly well rounded look at an amazing place. I especially loved the end… we are all brothers…..without expecting anything in return. Love you guys!!

  16. This video touched my heart to see how amazingly thoughtful you guys are as filmmakers not just sharing the places your travel but truly the spirit of humanity within the destinations. Your gift to us as viewers is felt by your efforts to share reality and this video leaves me with prayerful hope for this beautiful country. Thank you for sharing the heart and soul of Cape Town ❤
