Welcome back to our 3rd instalment in our first ever European roadtrip! In this video, we take our little VW campervan further South as we continue to travel through France on our way to Spain and Portugal.
We stay in another peaceful and totally free French aire, where we’re joined by some friendly locals – a couple of beautiful cats who rarely left our side. We also learn how to edit YouTube videos on the road using our power set up. We have a Bluetti powerpack and a portable solar panel that folds out, and this becomes our first experience trying to edit on the go. The power pack, charged by the solar, then keeps our laptops going among other devices. It’s not as advanced as some set ups, but it has worked for us and we’ve been amazed how many people have asked us where we got it and end up wanting one (it was from Amazon and came with our power pack – it wasn’t cheap at around a grand for the combo – eeek – but it has been hugely beneficial to us). You can also move it according to where the sun is in the sky, so in that respect it sometimes has an advantage over fixed panels, although we would love the latter!
We finally reach the Mediterranean coast and also begin exploring Western Europe’s largest river delta, the Camargue region, where the Rhone meets the sea – and got totally lost down a very dodgy road for a while! We explore the very deserted and seemingly isolated town of Port Saint Louis du Rhone, enjoy some tasty food and reach a beach just as the sun begins to set.
It is worth pointing out that in the south of France around the Camargue region, free aires are harder to find, but generally France is fantastic for them!
We hope you enjoyed the video and the continuation of our journey, and we’d like to thank everyone who has come along for the ride, including all our recent new subscribers (as well as those here from the start!) so thank you, it’s really appreciated. Do give the video a like if you can (unless, you know, you didn’t like it of course!) and hit the notification bell to be kept up to date with our videos and travels.
We’re also on Instagram where you can follow us in “real time” – as you’ll see from there we’re quite a way on with our journey now! Just search ComeAlongDear or instagram.com/comealongdear, a link is on our page here too.
Thanks everyone for your support, and although we do this for fun, we hope the videos have been entertaining, informative or inspiring in some way, especially if you’re thinking of travelling in a van and/or making a big change in your life, or simply enjoy following along with us!

What a lovely video. I feel your pain in learning to shoot and edit videos, but you definitely have a creative edge and a lovely easy style. I will watch and learn so I can improve Motorhome mums videos. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤗

Google maps should come with that warning “use at your own peril” 🤣 Another great vlog…and glad you both got a wash 🤪
Thank-you for sharing your visit from the neighbourhood kitties. 😻 Darren and I manage a feral cat sterilisation program, for a nearby charity, so we're always looking out for the street kitties and make sure to chat to the locals when we are out and about. (Local cats and dogs that is) 😻🤣
