We were about twenty miles away, and it was getting dark. The wind had dropped so I started my engine. But it was not running right. I spent several hours trying to purge the injectors. It didn’t work. Thorfinn kept on helming. It seemed like the Gods wanted us to come in at dawn. And we did. That night he got a real feel for Mindelo. It was the last day of Carnaval, and a few days later, Thorfinn would continue his adventures on Santa Antao island.

We went to Ted’ Shack in Salamanca. A favorite kite surf spot. My English friend Derek here had recently taken it over. Derek sailed in from England a while back and stayed longer than expected. I’m not the only one. I took Wendy and her boy Kledir. The beach is beautiful, as is Wendy. And to see the pure joy of her and boy out here, out of the hood, is just… wow.

  1. Brother. What would it cost to fix Wendy's sons teeth? I am willing to cover it if its not crazy money. Just saying.

  2. Why the Swiss flag? I thought you had lived all your life in the USA? Or the identity still did not rub off?? I know your parents were swiss.

  3. Alex , buenas noches acá.
    Geniales esa tomas.
Me gusta el fondo musical aunque si hubiese sido en Español como en otras ovaciones mejor.

  5. One day in the future we hope our sailing paths will cross down there in Cabo Verde. We love your channel and videos. Cheers, the Sailing Pilots
