  1. Nice video! I’m Brighton born and bred so it’s interesting to get a tourist’s views. You probably meant Isle of Wight 😉

  2. I think you’re right about Brighton having a different vibe from the rest of the UK. I’m pleased you enjoyed your visit and thanks for being so positive about everything.

  3. Sadly we have lost one of the Brighton Icon's now, but you can find remains of the TV programs featuring them 'Chocywokydoodah', give it a watch matbe a review. I have had their cakes, the best chocolate ever.

  4. I hope you get to dee the Coronation. Warning people are already camping out. Other than the Olympics this is the most international event ever and the biggest media event in history and I am not a Royalist. If you go take plenty of water. Along the Mall or Green Park might be best. But if you are North of Westminster you could walk up to the Mall once you see Charlie leave Westminster and get to a place on the Mall as well. or be like me, find a hostelry serving sticky buns and good coffee and running it all live on TV. For another location worth your time is – Stroud and Nailsworth area and Cirencester all on the edge of the Cotswolds, but different.

  5. I absolutely love this channel to see the way you see things through your eyes. Just up the road in Eastbourne is a nice place to visit with the beautiful Birling gap and seven sister white cliffs with cuckmere haven and country park at the bottom of the cliffs. There is a bus that goes from Hastings to Eastbourne all the time.

  6. I was born & raised in Brighton, although I don't live there any more. Where the Sealife Centre is, yes it is a very old aquarium. I remember going there when I was little, & they had dolphins there. I remember when I went, there was a young dolphin, I think was called Silvia or something similar.

  7. If you are in Brighton you must go to Lewes and Cuckmere Haven. The lower cliff walk between Brighton Marina and Saltdean is also very nice. Devil’s Dyke would also be fun.

  8. I knew I lived here for a reason! I hope you saw more than you put in your vlog – such as the inside of the Royal Pavilion. Brighton (& Hove actually) lays claim to another first that brings it closer to Hollywood – some if not the earliest movies ever made were filmed in Hove (St Anne's Well Park) and on Shoreham Beach (four miles west of the Palace Pier).
If you fancy another visit, try the Toy Museum under Brighton Railway station, or go for a walk through Kemp Town for more quirky shops.

  9. We did a tour on the West Pier while the walkway was still in place, it was one of the most amazing things we did and feel lucky to do so before it wasn't possible. There was a fun house at the end Brighton is incredible!

  10. Brighton is dirty, crowded, messed up, 20 mph congestion, poor quality shops, self righteous fuck you attitudes, poor quality beaches, not one but two piers that are embarrassing, drugs (but not in a good way), migrant hotels are put in other towns along with the homeless, shopping centre is rubbish, exploitative… In other words, London by the sea.

  11. Seeing this video brings back memories of an old classic B &W movie I saw many years ago called The Brighton Strangler. It starred Laird Cregar and was an excellent thriller movie.

  12. Really enjoyed your video. When you come back visit the North Laines and St James's Street in Kemptown, less touristy but a lot of fun. All the best, Ben

  13. I haven't been to Brighton yet (not sure I will make it there, since my husband kind of refuses to go…) but I did enjoy seeing your vlog of all of your adventures there! Great video! Cheers! XX Dara

  14. Hey you’d be absolutely bonkers raving mad to move from America to the U.K.!. Yes you have the firearms debate and have to pay for health insurance. But here in the U.K. as you probably saw in Brighton. Everything is practically illegal. You cannot use drones, rc cars, you can’t use any type of off-road vehicle in the countryside like quad bikes, or dirt bikes unless it’s private property as it’s illegal!. People will say I’m lying, but literally search YouTube for U.K. rc car police called for broken grass!. Yes a guy using an rc car in public land was threatened with arrest by the police for bending blades of grass!.
Unless you are a cyclist who can get away with anything they want including knocking over children, hitting pregnant woman, riding down pavements and generally doing what they want. For everyone else with an interest here in the U.K. forget it. All the things you take for granted that you can do in America you CANNOT do in the U.K.!.
Take note when your walking around everyone in the U.K. is doing thr same stuff, walking around going in shops and sitting in/outside pubs and restaurants. Why because other than the cinema there is nothing you can do, well apart from walk around the countryside or ride a bike!. The moment you try and enjoy yourself boom police are called. Don’t try and use an air rifle in your garden as the area will be swarming with police.
Don’t take photos on the beach or you’ll be attacked, yes a friend witnessed a woman being hit in the head with a bottle by another purple haired woman because she took a photo!. The woman said she was taking a photo of a seagull off the beach in the water, this liberal woman called her a pervert snd proceeded to smash a glass bottle over her head!.
Like I said if you move to the U.K. be prepared to not have fun or even try to do anything fun!. The moment you do you’ll either have nasty vile people swearing at you, attacking you or the police called!.
Have a bone fire in the garden, police called because it’s ten minutes before 6pm, play music too loud at 11:10pm police called, use fireworks in your garden police called or neighbours threatening to smash your windows in!. Have a car with a loud exhaust expect the council to be called and you threatened by them!. You’d be literally raving mad crazy off your rocker to move to the U.K. from America!.

  15. 14:49 FISHY ???? What a surprise ! You are by the sea…fish live in the sea and people catch them to eat……..🙄Should the Council disinfect them ?🤔

  16. Hi you too, hope you got to see King Charles coronation. For such a formal occasion, it was so cool. Lovely to see everyone so happy inspite of the great British weather. Loved the Brighton vid😀😀😀

  17. The Lanes are 100% part of the vibe. Friday/Saturday on the main road from the rail station can be chaos (clubs/bars) but the whole of Brighton has managed to keep a great balance of classic UK seaside, bars, clubs, amazing pubs, indie shopping, and genuine culture, which is rare. It’s a jewel of UK seaside.

  18. I defy anyone to sit for more than 3 minutes on that beach before starting to throw pebbles aimed at a randomly selected target – perhaps even a larger pebble. It's a kind of meditation

  19. Can’t wait to get back to Brighton this summer; we visited in 2019 when I made my Quadrophenia pilgrimage and want to go back to see more of the Lanes and spend some time on the Palace Pier again

  20. Brighton is such a great city. I feel like when you visit Brighton, you have to go down to the beach for fish and chips and ice cream to follow. You just have to, after all, you're by the sea

  21. 1) The Brighton Speed Trial is held on the sea front. It's the oldest motor race in the world dating back to 1905. Plenty of videos to check out on YouTube.
    2) Brighton is mentioned in the song 'Pinball Wizard' by The Who and quite a few rock stars live or have lived in Brighton including Paul McCartney, Noel Gallagher, Michael and Schenker & Phil Mogg from UFO.
    3) A network of secret tunnels run below Brighton.
    4) Pink Floyd debuted their iconic Dark Side of the Moon in Brighton in 1972.
    5) The oldest surviving blue movie was filmed in Brighton in 1896.
    6) Brighton opened the UK's first nudist beach in 1979.
    7) Brighton is considered to be the UK's second most haunted city after York.
    8) Hitler ordered his air force not to bomb Brighton as he wanted the Pavilion as his home.
    9) George Everest, the man Mount Everest is named after is buried in Brighton. Unfortunately his grave isn't the highest tomb in the world.
    10) Brighton marina is the largest man-made marina in Europe, covering 127 acres.

  22. Love that your in Brighton! I've been watching your videos and it's so fun you made it down to near where I am. Definitely has a different vibe to London and most of the UK!

  23. I visited Brighton in September on my first proper solo trip and fell in love with it. Everyone was wonderful despite my awkwardness of having to explain that I was on my own.
It included taking a severely delayed train from the borders down to London then switching. I was knackered by the time I got there 😂

I then done a couple days in London which I'm far more familiar with. I always say that I'd go back more often if I didn't live so far away.
