  1. Hi Guys! Loving the catch up between each other. Feels like I am sitting across the table. Making my morning coffee taste even better. God Bless.

  2. I envy you guys. I am a Filipino but have never been in the southern part of the Philippines. You are more well-traveled in the Philippines than a local like me hehe. Once I get a chance to travel in Dumaguete, I will hunt you Paul and the rest of the gang. 😄

  3. Paul, rest assured that Social Security is not in jeopardy. Mike is right, the retired citizens are a huge voting block, and no political party is going to mess with them. Cheers

  4. Great information for newbies to hear. I loved Iloilo Iloilo as well. Only thing is locals not as open or curios to foreigners as other places. But that's a 2 day observation. I could be wrong ??? Hope Monty is doing good ! He is a blessed man.

  5. Hi guys, I am 60 and Canadian and will be retiring to SanCarlos later this year. Just wondering if you recommend getting Health insurance over there or just pay as you go? I’ve been hearing two sides of that story and not sure which is best.

  6. In NC here guys and I tell ya even in my small town of 5k the amount of people on meth, illegal's, and inflation has really taken off over the last couple of years. I live on 100% military disability p/t and SS disability and have been really thinking about retiring in the Philippines and getting out of here. I'm 46 so I don't think I qualify for the special visa yet but I'm watching every video I can find to pick the best place to be. I'm not into big cities and huge crowds and such, I'm more interested in fishing, boating, diving and exploring all the natural geographics including a wife to accompany me. Where would you guys likely suggest?

  7. Good genuine conversations are rare anymore. I like the Philippines but living in a small town in a conservative area has got it beat hands down. I own my home and can make 50-60 per hr part time not 7.50. That’s a joke. But I’ll visit there often. Thanks for entertaining me.

  8. Since you mention about Iloilo here is a factoid for you Paul the smart one, if you look up Ilosone a n erythtromysin derivative made by Eli Lilly and the next thing is Guimaras Island where you can find the sweetest mangoe in the whole world an island nearby.

  9. good conversation between you guys, next time Paul the smart one will be the moderator and Paulie, Mikey will engage with the dumb and dumber from the other vlog by Paul old dog = TOTAL CHAOS

  10. Hey Paul, a few of us were discussing medical care, and your name came up. The issue was do we really have mediocre medical care in Dumaguete. Your name came up because you and Mae did extensive medical and diagnostic testing in Thailand, not in our beloved Dumaguete. I can understand why 100%, but lets face-off the ugly elephant in the room by saying…the hospitals in Dumaguete are a joke when it comes down to specialized care and equipment intensive diagnostic tools. That's in addition to doctors who are inadequately trained. They all reference St Lukes's in Manila as a fallback position. No hospital in the Philippines is world ranked while Bangkok has two. Anyway, we would love to hear your views on this endearing subject. Best to you and Mae.

  11. I am considering retiring there. One problem is the flying. I am 6'3" and airlines tend to space their seats for the average passenger. On a short flight, the misery of my legs being jammed against the seat in front of me can be tolerated, but I'm afraid I'd need a wheelchair after that long flight. First class is many multiples the already extreme airfare. Can you suggest an alternative, besides swimming?

  12. So if rents are sky high, food prices off the charts, gas, power, and utilities increasing every year coupled with stagnating wages, where do you think the excess profits are going? It sucks to be poor, sick, disabled, or living on a fixed income in the US. If you can’t pay rent and don’t have friends or family who are able to take you in, you’re homeless before you know it. People shouldn’t be demonized for being poor and homeless. Greedy corporations and billionaires and politicians beholden to them are to blame. The gap between the rich and poor are widening and soon, the US will look like the Philippines.
