SUBSCRIBE: – Let’s go for a quick walk inside this beautiful (and very busy) shopping mall located right at the center of Dortmund in Germany.

Thier-Galerie Dortmund, the trademark of Dortmund’s downtown, was awarded the “Across Award 2012” as the most innovative new shopping center in Europe due to its spectacular architecture, among other things. The four-story “house within a house” ensures an exceptional spatial experience in the glass-roofed interior connected to the surrounding shopping streets through 25 bridges. The eye-catcher and main entrance portal at the Westenhellweg promenade is the reconstructed facade of a former trading house from Germany’s period of rapid industrial expansion. An additional highlight is the exterior terrace of the shopping center, which is meant to be a special food court attraction.
Dortmund is a city in Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia region. It’s known for its Westfalen Stadium, home to the Borussia soccer team. Nearby Westfalen Park is marked by the Florian Tower, with its observation platform. The Dortmund U-Tower is topped by a huge letter U and houses Museum Ostwall’s contemporary art exhibits. Rombergpark botanical garden has local trees and greenhouses with cacti and tropical plants.

Germany is a Western European country with a landscape of forests, rivers, mountain ranges and North Sea beaches. It has over 2 millennia of history. Berlin, its capital, is home to art and nightlife scenes, the Brandenburg Gate and many sites relating to WWII. Munich is known for its Oktoberfest and beer halls, including the 16th-century Hofbräuhaus. Frankfurt, with its skyscrapers, houses the European Central Bank.
