Talking about my favorite travel destination: Rijeka, Croatia, and their fascinating architecture which will help us in a time travel journey to discover some Central & Eastern European history.
When it comes to travelling to Croatia, people usually go to Dubrovnik, Split or Pula, to visit the beautiful beaches of Croatia, and many don’t know about his underrated town.
However, in Rijeka you can see a more interesting side of Croatia, which is more chaotic than the Eurotrip Eastern Europe scene lol.
Rijeka is a town on the western side of Croatia, in the northern part of the Adriatic Sea, located in the mouth of the Rječina river, with 100K inhabitants, surrounded by mountains.
The city has some interesting Ancient Roman ruins, a medieval castle, beautiful churches from different periods of time, lots of Austo-Hungarian era, Vienna-secession style palaces, and some socialist yugo memorials, and it’s most interesting cultural event is the Rijeka Carnival.
